How to use Split PDF

Split, extract, or remove — the same screen
The page editor covers four related jobs with one interface. Split cuts a document into separate files. Extract pulls chosen pages into a new PDF. Remove deletes pages you don't want and keeps the rest. Organize reorders them by dragging. Which one you are doing is just a matter of what you select and which button you press.
When splitting is the better answer than compressing
If a PDF is too big to email or upload, splitting is often the smarter fix. A 40-page report where only pages 12–15 matter does not need to be recompressed into blurriness — those four pages extracted are both smaller and more useful to whoever receives them, and they keep their original quality and selectable text.
Page quality
Extracted pages are copied as vector content, not re-rendered. The output pages are byte-for-byte as sharp as the originals, and any text on them remains selectable and searchable.
Questions people ask
Can I extract non-consecutive pages, like 1, 5 and 9?
Yes. Selection is per page, so any combination works — they do not have to be next to each other.
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied across as-is, so the extracted PDF is exactly as sharp as the source.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
Not directly. Remove the password first with the Unlock PDF tool (you will need the correct password), then split the unlocked file.
