What 100 KB is enough for
100 KB is comfortably enough for a passport-style photo, a certificate scan that will be read on screen, or a picture in an email. It is not enough to keep a 12-megapixel phone photo looking good at full size: to fit a big photo under 100 KB the tool has to give up fine detail, so the result looks fine on screen but soft if it is printed large.
