Why photos appear sideways
Phones often don't turn the pixels when you turn the camera. They store the picture as it was shot and add a note saying which way is up. Your gallery reads the note; many websites and forms ignore it — so the photo appears on its side. Rotating it here turns the pixels themselves, so it looks right everywhere.
Full resolution
The rotated image keeps its full pixel dimensions — a 4000 × 3000 photo comes out 3000 × 4000 after a quarter turn. The work happens in your browser, so the photo isn't uploaded.
Several photos, or photos in a PDF
This tool turns one image at a time. If the photos are going into a PDF anyway, you can skip it: JPG to PDF has a rotate button on every thumbnail, and Rotate PDF fixes pages that are already in a PDF.
A quarter turn swaps width and height, so a 1200 × 1600 photo becomes 1600 × 1200. If a form needs exact dimensions, rotate first and then use Resize Image.

Can I rotate by a custom angle, like 15°?
No — this tool turns in 90° steps, which is what a sideways photo needs. To straighten a tilted photo of a card or document, use Auto Crop, which straightens it for you.
